Women need our love not our welding Rods

In one of the district gender trainings participants were asked to describe love making in their own way or language and one of the adjectives that emerged was welding. One may fail to find the link or relationship between lovemaking and welding, but as shocking as it may be several men said when they are making love to their wives they will be ‘welding’ their partners.

It is apparent from the terminology used that these men viewed their partners as conquests and not as equals. Several other sexist emerged and they showed lack of respect for women by men.

It was at the end of the training that one man stood up and urged other men to think of women differently. He said, “Women need our love not our welding rods”.
